Oppo F15 vs Realme X2: A comparison of the two new mid-range, quad camera phones 

Close on the heels of Vivo’s S1 Pro that was launched a few days back in the Indian market, comes Oppo’s new F15, the first of its model to be unveiled in India in 2020. The mid-range smart phone aims at the budget market that is currently dominated by its strong competitors Redmi, Realme and Vivo. 

Equipped with the trending quad camera setup, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and 48 mega pixel sensor, the chinese smart phone differs from its native opponents in its Helio P70 SoC processor rather than the currently favoured Qualcomm Snapdragon.

How far the newbie will hold its show up in the highly competitive Indian budget-market scenario is something to wait and watch for in the coming months. As the smart phone is soon to hit sales both online and off-stores by the mid of February, let us have a comparative look at the features and specifications  of Oppo F15 and its strongest market-rival, Realme X2. 

PRICE

The Oppo F15 comes at Rs. 19,990/- for its 8GB RAM + 128GB storage version while Realme X2 is priced at Rs. 16,999 for its base model 4GB RAM + 64GB storage version. Its 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs. 18,999. The top-notch 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model comes at Rs. 19,999. 

DESIGN

Oppo F15 is launched in Lightning Black and Unicorn White while Realme X2 comes in Pearl Green, Pearl White, and Pearl Blue. The former is comparatively light weight at 172 g while Realme weighs 182 g.

FEATURES



CAMERA

Both the brands sport the trendy quad camera with a rear camera of 48MP  primary lens. Oppo F15 has aF1.79 aperture and 8MP ultra-wide shooter and a front camera of 16 MP with F2.0 aperture. Realme X2 features a front camera of 32MP f/2.0 censor, and rear camera of 64MP + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro + 2MP depth.




BATTERY 

Oppo F15 comes with 4,000 mAh battery very much like its competitor Realme X2. While Oppo has a 20W, VOOC 3.0 charge, Realme X2 features a 30W VOOC Flash charge 4.0

DISPLAY        

Both the smart phones feature a 6.4 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with Oppo F15 having a resolution of 1800 x 2400 pixels while Realme X2 tags along with a 1080 x 2340 resolution and aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Both sports the trendy water-drop notch for the front camera and a gorilla glass for protection.

PROCESSOR

Oppo F15 sports MediaTek Helio P70 processor while Realme X2 is powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC with Adreno 618 GPU


RAM & STORAGE

Oppo F15 has 8GB+128GB storage while Realme X2 has versions of 4GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB and 8GB +128GB storage. Both have an expandable storage through microSD of up to 256GB. 

OS

Both Oppo F15 and Realme X2 run on Android 9.0 pie. Realme has colour OS 6.0 skin, while Oppo has an updated colour OS 6.1.2 

SECURITY

Oppo F15 has an In-display fingerprint scanner and both phones come with Face Unlock feature, proximity sensor, and accelerometer.
