CES United States 2020: Dell announces AMD powered G5 15 SE Gaming Laptop, Alienware Concept UFO, Portable Gaming PC, Dual & Folding Display Laptop Concepts
At CES 2020 Dell announced its new stream of interesting software as well as devices aimed at the fast-expanding gaming community. Below is the gist of new launches at a glance:
The gaming laptop, featuring a 15.6-inch full-HD display and a 144Hz refresh rate will be priced at $799.99 (roughly Rs. 57,400) and is expected to hit the markets by mid-April this year. The 15 SE is the first in the Dell ‘G Series' to sport the 3rd Generation AMD Ryzen 4000 H-Series Mobile Processors. Paired with AMD Radeon RX 5600M graphics cards, the laptop’snew ‘Game Shift' macro key, not only enhances performance but also gives sharpened images and brings down latency.
Packed with a 68Whr battery, the device has an optional 4-zone RGB keyboard, and stylishly sports a ‘fighter plane' look with it’s metallic accents and silver hues. There's an onboard Alienware Command Center for controlling game settings like audio, lightning etc.
The company’s Alienware 25 gaming monitor is priced at an initial rate of $499.99 (around Rs.35,800) and will hit the markets in the US by March 11. With its exclusive features like AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync compatibility, 240Hz refresh rate, and 1ms grey-to-grey response time, the device promises an immersive gaming experience for gaming enthusiasts.
The Alienware 25 gaming monitor - claimed to be the company’s “Official Display for Team Liquid” - features a 24.5-inch full-HD display, and comes with a narrow adjustable stand. The new gaming monitor is predicted to be Dell’s official competition monitor for the upcoming global event, League of Legends.
An interesting announcement by the company was their new Alienware Second Screen concept software. It permits gamers to view and track their stats/perfromance on their phones. Synchronized with the Alienware Command Center the Alienware Second Screen provides real-time performance parameters like CPU (processor usage), GPU (graphics card usage), and RAM diagnostic data on a gamers’ connected phone in real-time.
Though still in the conceptual phase, the company believes that this idea will trigger further enthusiasm among mobile gamers who cannot access a second monitor but would like to keep a track of their stats without leaving the game.”
Gamers can play their favourite AAA PC titles on Dell as they have introduced a portable hand-held gaming device called Concept UFO. Inspired by Nintendo Switch, this new concept device features an 8-inch (1200x1900 pixels) display and offers a range of modes.
With detachable controllers that resemble Nintendo’s Joy-Cons, it can be used with the kickstand on a surface or as one unit with the controllers attached to the screen; or play using the detached controller by connecting it to an external display. Another mode is to use a mouse and keyboard just like in a PC. With added support like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Thunderbolt, the Concept UFO is supposedly powered by 10th Generation Intel Core processors.
Dell claims the Alienware Concept UFO will have a smooth run with all modern PC games. With few competitors to the Switch, Dell’s UFO will be a happy addition to the handheld console market as of now.
Keen on revolutionising the gaming market with these innovative products, Dell shared a few glimpses of some of its concept devices. The hints clearly give us an idea on how the future of the fast-evolving gaming could look like over the coming years.
